Until this moment, it did not mater the technology used, in reality it was not possible to have a glossy exhaust, but with the new inorganic based paint from one of the Japanese leading developers and manufacturers with impressive technological capabilities, together with our company BAD LAND in a project that took 6 years we made it possible.
As an example, even if the exhaust pipe is heated to a very high temperature of 300oC or more, we finally succeeded to do it without compromising the gloss of the exhaust, developing the next generation of special hybrid based clear coatings.
* The existing clear coatings had a continued heat resistance temperature until 250°C.

BL Heat 2 Coats System Information
It has an excellent heat resistance and heat discoloration resistance (more than 300°C).
Good adhesiveness to various metals. Due to its high hardness (8~9H) it has an excellent abrasion resistance and also deformation capability. It has water and oil repellency and a really good releasing performance.

No.1 : Drying condition: Primer color, heat resistant clear…
1 ) Completely degrease the item to be painted, and carry out the surface preparation and base polishing.
2 ) Completely remove all debris and foreign substances from the item’ s surface.
3 ) Paint the primer color. We recommend that you apply the primer color as thickly as possible.
4 ) Maintain the previously set temperature of the baking pot at 70°C~80°C.
5 ) After you paint the primer color, maintain the temperature of the item at 180°C~190°C while baking it for 30 minutes.
6 ) After this, cool down the item until it returns to a normal temperature.
7 ) Paint the heat resistant clear.
8 ) Once again, maintain the set temperature of the baking pot at 70°C~ 80°C.
9 ) Maintain the temperature of the item at 180°C~ 190°C while baking it for 30 minutes.
■ Carry out this work in an environment that has less than 70% humidity.
■ Apply the primer color, final coat heat resistant clear, and paint undiluted. There is no need to dilute it.
■ The BL Heat Resistant 2 Coat System provides an extremely thin coat, so if it gets mixed with debris or foreign substances, cracking or peeling make occur after it finishes baking.
Because of this, make sure to completely remove all debris and carefully prepare the surface.
No.2 : Standard thickness of the BL Heat 2 Coats system
Undercoat color thickness: 20 ~ 30μm (micrometers) = 0.02 to 0.03 mm Overcoat clear thickness: 5 ~ 10μm (micrometers) = .005 to 0.01 mm
No.3 : Overcoat heat clear coat : Data obtained from a performance test on film
00 hours heating/discoloration, no peeling or cracking during the heat resistance test at 300°C. Gloss retention rate of 95% or more.
No.4 : Hardness: 8 ~ 9H
No.5 : Oil resistance test
■ After 3 hours in contact with gasoline in a single spot 20oC the coating film did not present any abnormality after checking it visually.
■ After 48 hours immersion in kerosene at 20oC the coating film did not present any abnormality after checking it visually.
■ After 3 hours in contact with engine oil in a single spot at 20oC the coating film did not present any abnormality after checking it visually.
No.7 : Water resistance test
After 24 hours immersion in boiling water, the coating did not present any abnormality.
No.8 : Stain resistance test
After writing with permanent maker pen(black, red, blue)and wiping it with a dry cloth, there were no abnormalities
No.9 : Flammability test
Performed with a gas burner open flame for 20 seconds. Test result : Incombustible.
